Eric Gural, Chairman
Executive Managing Director, Newmark Knight Frank
Mr. Gural is the Executive Managing Director of Newmark Knight Frank—the fifth largest real estate company in the world. He joined Newmark in 1991, first working in commercial real estate, and today supervises the leasing and management of approximately 8 million square feet of property. Mr. Gural is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association.
Sheru Chowdhry
Managing Director, Paulson & Co. Inc.
Mr. Chowdhry is a Managing Director at Paulson & Co. Inc.— one of the largest hedge funds with about $30 billion in assets under management. He joined Paulson in 2004 and is responsible for distressed investments. Previously, he was a research analyst at DebtTraders Inc. covering distressed and bankrupt securities. Mr. Chowdhry holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Dickson Chu
Senior Vice President for Merchant Solutions, LivingSocial
Dickson Chu is Senior Vice President for Merchant Solutions at LivingSocial, where he develops and promotes products and services to meet the marketing and operational needs of local merchants. Formerly, Dickson served as Managing Director, Digital Networks in the Citi’s Global Enterprise Payments unit, where he directed the development of new payments capabilities for mobile, online and technology companies. Prior to Citi, Dickson was Vice President of Global Product and Experience for PayPal Inc. and was part of the initial leadership team that created the merchant services business. Dickson has held various senior management roles at companies such as Yahoo! PayDirect, I-Impact, Wells Fargo, and CSC Index, where he was Director of the Hong Kong office. Dickson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College in California.
Dillon Cohen
Co-founder, The Carlin Group
Mr. Cohen is co-founder of The Carlin Group, a venture capital fund that invests in technology start-ups. Previously, he worked for the Clearpool-Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Partnership and the Institute for Learning Technologies at Columbia University. In these, jobs he built computer networks in New York City public schools, taught computing to elementary school students, and created wide area networks and web services. A graduate of Stanford University, Mr. Cohen has directed an art gallery and worked as a private art dealer.
Luis de la Fuente, (observer)
Director, The Broad Foundation
Luis de la Fuente develops and manages a portfolio of grants to school districts, charter management organizations, and innovative non-profits working to improve urban public education. He leads The Broad Foundation’s “21st Century Classroom” work to re-envision and transform today’s classroom into a more personalized, technology-enabled instructional delivery model. De la Fuente has been with The Broad Foundation for three years; he was previously a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he consulted for corporations in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and non-profit sectors. Prior to McKinsey, de la Fuente worked as a post-doctoral research associate at Stanford University. He has a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. in developmental biology from the University of California, San Francisco.
Holly Delany Cole
Co-Director, Community Resource Exchange
Ms. Cole is the Co-Director of Community Resource Exchange, a nonprofit consulting firm that brings management know-how to New York City nonprofit organizations. She has worked with a number of human service organizations in such roles as administrator, program developer, intern, and counselor. Ms. Cole was a member of the program staff of the New York Community Trust from 1982-1989. She also co-staffed the start-up of the National Funding Collaborative on Violence Prevention. Ms. Cole holds a BSW from Adelphi and an AM from the University of Chicago.
Dan Dolgin, CFY Co-Founder & Former Board Chairman
Private Investor, Formerly head of McDermott, Will & Emery’s New York office
Formerly head of the New York office of the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery, Mr. Dolgin is now engaged in private investing activity, primarily with development-stage businesses, as an outside general counsel and financial advisor. Mr. Dolgin graduated from Columbia College and Columbia Law School.
Betsy Fader
Director of Strategy and Planning, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation
As Director of Strategy and Planning at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Ms. Fader oversees strategic planning, communications, and evaluation. She also assists with developing program strategies. Previously, Ms. Fader worked for six years as the Executive Director of Student Pugwash, the junior arm of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, with a masters in Education and Social Policy from Harvard, she served for four years on Vanderbilt’s Board of Trustees and is listed in Who’s Who in America.
Gregory Gould
Managing Director, Global Investment Research Department (retired), Goldman Sachs
Mr. Gould was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Group in the Global Investment Research Department before retiring in 2006. As the senior technology analyst covering the IT Services industry, companies under his coverage included Accenture, Automatic Data Processing, Electronic Data Systems, First Data Corp., and Paychex, among others. Mr. Gould is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Jason Hirschhorn
Chief Executive Officer, reDEF Group
Mr. Hirschhorn is the Chief Executive Officer of reDEF Group. Prior to this position, he held numerous executive roles in entertainment media. He was the Co-President of MySpace, the President of the Entertainment Group at Sling Media, Inc., a Founding Partner at TripleH Media Advisors, and was Chief Digital Officer at MTV Networks. Mr. Hirschhorn joined MTV Networks via the acquisition of his company, Mischief New Media, a leading web site design and content development firm he founded to serve the entertainment industry. He has a BS in International Business and Marketing from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Mr. Palmer is Managing Partner of Palm Ventures, an entrepreneurial investment firm focused on building companies that have a positive and transformative impact on society in the education, human resources, health care, and renewable energy sectors. Prior to founding Palm Ventures, Mr. Palmer was a Senior Associate with James D. Wolfensohn, Incorporated. He is a graduate of Indiana University and the Wharton School.
Richard Plepler
Co-President, HBO
Mr. Plepler is Co-President of HBO. After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College, Mr. Plepler served as an aide to Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, founded and headed a communications consulting and production firm, RLP Inc., and produced several TV documentaries for Public Television. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Ellen C. Schubert

Ellen C. Schubert is Chief Advisor to Deloitte’s Asset Management Services practice and advises hedge fund clients on issues including operations, product structuring and regulation. Prior to joining Deloitte, Ms. Schubert was a Managing Director and Global Head of the Fixed Income Hedge Fund Business for UBS Investment Bank. She was a member of the Federal Reserve Board – Foreign Exchange Committee from 2002 to 2006. In 2004, the Women’s Bond Club of New York honored her with the Merit Award and in 2005 she received the Leadership Award from the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Association. Ms. Schubert graduated cum laude with a B.A. in economics and history from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
